Strange Hill High

Strange Hill High is co-produced by Factory, CBBC and FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment and created by Kat Van Henderson at Factory’s studios. American television writer and producer Josh Weinstein (The Simpsons/Futurama) is the series showrunner.

The 26 x 22 mins series, recently aired on CBBC, was created using “Hypervynorama”, a ground breaking animation technique that combines Japanese vinyl toy design and puppetry with stop-motion animation and computer generated imagery (CGI).

Aimed at 7-10 year olds, Strange Hill High is a weird and wonderful animated comedy that follows a trio of friends as they wade through the strange secrets and peculiar mysteries of their school.

It features the vocal talents of Emma Kennedy, Richard Ayoade and Ben ‘Doc Brown’ Smith, who play Becky Butters, Templeton and Mitchell Tanner, respectively. The series also boasts well-loved British figures Caroline Aherne and John Thomson, and series two featured a guest voicing from Alison Moyet, who sings her way through a musical special.

The fast-paced, action-packed and hilarious adventure series was nominated for BAFTA, Televisual and Broadcast awards and awarded ‘Best Animated Series’ at the Kidscreen Awards 2014.
